Congratulations to 11 year-old Victoria Pevzner who placed second in the U-13 Girls’ Foil event at 2018 Challenge Wratislavia, an international youth fencing tournament in Wroclaw, Poland. The ’13 year-old and under’ girls foil event included over 180 competitors from the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine and many other countries.

While Victoria’s success at Wratislavia can be attributed to her skills and endurance, her ability to focus, mobilize mentally and push through difficult situations played an even greater role.

Victoria began fencing nearly 4 years ago and training at Origin in 2017. Since joining V Fencing and Origin Health & Fitness, Victoria’s father, Vadim, notes that she “has been making steady progress, improving her technical skills, physical fitness, and mental toughness. Training and conditioning have started to yield visible improvements in her performance.”

Victoria recognizes that this is just the beginning of her journey. She is eager to apply her learning at upcoming tournaments to finish the season on a strong note. We are proud to call Victoria part of the Origin family and honored to coach this warrior, physically and mentally, on her path to continued success.
